We had 3 L-S High School Wrestlers, Logan Davidson, Johnny Franklin, and Tyler Phenegar, competing in the USA Wrestling’s Northeast Regional Tournament in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling (the Olympic styles of wrestling) this past weekend at East Stroudsburg University. Andrew Bliss joined the other 3 for the Greco-Roman tournament on Sunday. This is a national level USA Wrestling event and draws some of the top wrestlers from PA, NY, NJ, VA, MD, DE, and CT along with several other states. To say that the competition is fierce would be an understatement. One Greco  Bracket had 2 PA State champs and a National Prep All-American who was on the Team USA Cadet World team last year fighting it out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.   Many of our guys ran into state medalists during the competitions. Each wrestler earned at least one win over the weekend which is hard to do.

Logan Davidson ended up taking 4th place in the Cadet Age Group – 182lb division. The top 4 place finishers at a Regional Tournament qualify for the USA National Tournament in Fargo, ND in July. Along with earning a PIAA state medal, earning a trip to Fargo and placing top 8 there, which earns you All-American status, is one of the highest goals for most top level wrestlers. Congratulations to all of the boys for competing. A special congrats goes out to Logan for his amazing accomplishment this Saturday.
