The junior high wrestling team had its best showing yet at the 2018 Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championships. Four Pioneer wrestlers – Bradey Cunningham, Parker Owens, Zac Shelley, and Neil Eckman – competed against the toughest challengers in the state and each gave his best effort.

  • Neil went 1-2 with a thrilling victory in which he scored a takedown with only a few seconds left to break a tie.
  • Bradey and Zac each went 2-2, making it to the quarterfinals and ending up in the top 12 in the state out of the 42 man brackets.
  • Parker went 4-3, becoming the first L-S wrestler to medal at the PJW Junior High State Championship tournament. He ended the weekend at 8th place in the state.

Congratulations to these four athletes and to the entire junior high wrestling program!
